The elderly Mr Lim, 92, used to be a butcher at the Bugis wet market just across the road. That same plot of land is where Bugis junction now sits. “Right over there across the road”, his son points towards the window.
They moved to Rochor when it was built in 1976. The elder Mrs Lim passed away in this flat a few years ago.
On his father, Mr Lim said, “He can walk, his eyes are as sharp as an eagle. But he doesn’t want to leave the house to take strolls, he just wants to lie here.”
